Project

At ABB Switzerland, in the area of medium voltage products and systems, there are very varied applications for different stages of the manufacturing process. A high degree of interdependancy exists between the individual applications, as they are all a part of the production chain. The challenge here is to create clearly defined interfaces between different stages of the production system, alongside the consolidation of an independent database.

Solution

The application platform developed by Astina consolidates the Product Information Management (PIM) application of ABB with product information and sales data that is gathered through several other applications. The application platform provides centralised corporate functions such as Single Sign-On (SSO), reports and document exports which can be accessed through linked interfaces. The databank of the different applications is consolidated and there is control and reporting access for all data on the platform.
